  • State Agricultural Officials Ask Public to be on Alert for Hatching of Invasive Spotted Lanternfly Eggs

    • Have you recently planted maple, crabapple, or other trees? MDAR is asking everyone to check them for spotted lanternfly egg masses or recently hatched nymphs after we were alerted that trees or shrubs with SLF egg masses may have been recently shipped to Massachusetts. Please give all nursery stock a thorough check (including pots or other containers), especially if the plants have tags that indicate they are from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or other SLF-infested states, and report any finds.

  • Watercraft

    • Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission. Western Aquatic Invasive Species Resource Center.

    • Provides watercraft inspection and decontamination state information in the western states and Canadian provinces to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.

      In December 2021, the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) initiated a program to prevent delays during the transport of watercraft destined in the Pacific Northwest.

  • Wisconsin Clean Boats, Clean Waters

    • Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

    • Clean Boats, Clean Waters includes teams of volunteers, as well as some paid staff from the DNR, Sea Grant and other organizations. Boat inspectors help perform boat and trailer checks, disseminate informational brochures and educate boaters on how to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.

  • Wyoming Weed Watchlist Field Guide

    • University of Wyoming Extension.

    • The Wyoming Weed Watchlist Field Guide is designed to enhance prevention and early detection efforts of weeds not yet widely established in Wyoming. It was developed by students enrolled in the University of Wyoming's Invasive Plant Ecology course of fall semester 2010. The field guide is not intended as a management handbook, but rather an educational tool for outdoor recreationalists, natural resource professionals, tourists, gardeners, agriculturalists, and others to aid in identification of unfamiliar, yet extremely important, weeds in the region. The highest leverage step in reducing potential impact of new invasive weeds in Wyoming is to detect new populations before they can become well established.
