Native To: Possibly India (CABI)

Date of U.S. Introduction: First discovered in California in 1953, but the infestation was eradicated; since then, it has been frequently intercepted on imported cargo (Harris 2015)

Means of Introduction: Usually found in imported cargo at ports of entry (Harris 2015)

Impact: Destructive pest of cereal grains and oilseeds (CABI)
