The United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) has adopted new guidelines to prevent and control biological invasions by pets, aquarium and terrarium species, live bait and live food. The new guidance is largely based on input from the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC) Invasive Species Specialist Group (ISSG).

Invasive Species Ireland.

The Invasive Species in Ireland initiative has just published Ireland's first report on the economic cost of invasive and non-native species in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Department of Environment and Natural Resources (Philippines).

The Philippine Department of Environmental and Natural Resources launched the Philippine component of an internationally-funded project on invasive alien species (IAS). The project, entitled "Removing Barriers to Invasive Species Management in the Production and Protection Forests in Southeast Asia" is funded by the Global Environment Fund (GEF) through the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP).
