The Forest Service has finalized the development of
an internal directive to the Forest
Service Manual (FSM) 2900 (Dec 5, 2011; PDF | 315 KB) policy
for invasive species management. This final invasive
species management directive will provide foundational
comprehensive guidance for the management of invasive
species on aquatic and terrestrial areas of the National
Forest System (NFS). The purpose of this policy is to
bring existing efforts together for a more coordinated
management approach.
James M. Peña, Associate Deputy Chief, National
Forest System approved
amendment number 2900-2011-1 Nov 21, 2011. Effective
date is Dec 5, 2011. This amendment is effective until
superseded or removed.
