- Pennsylvania Governor Rendell signed Executive Order 2004-1 (Jan 27, 2004, ammended Sep 18, 2006) which creates an Invasive Species Council to advise and direct the Governor on the development and implementation of a State invasive species management plan and provide guidance on prevention, control, and rapid response initiatives and coordination among federal, state, regional and local efforts. The Secretary of Agriculture will chair the council, which also will include DCNR, DEP, Health, PennDOT, Fish and Boat Commission, Game Commission and 10 members of the public representing agriculture and natural resource organizations and educational institutions involved in invasives research.
