Island Habitat Restoration Task Force: A Partnership
in Invasive Plant Management New Jersey Audubon Society.
To reduce the potentially negative effects that invasive plants may have on the
bird populations and other wildlife that use the habitats found on Cape Island,
the Cape Island Habitat Restoration Task Force (CIHRTF) has formed under the
coordination of the New Jersey Audubon Society. This task force includes partnerships
with New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, New Jersey Division of Parks and
Forestry, and The Nature Conservancy.
New Jersey Invasive
Species Strike Team (NJISST)
Strike Team is a statewide cooperative effort with a mission to prevent the spread of emerging invasive species across the state of New Jersey. Started in 2008 as the Central Jersey Invasive Species Strike Team, the project has now expanded statewide and consists of over 80 public and private partner organizations representing all levels of government from federal to municipal, non-profit conservation groups and consulting foresters.
