    The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources' Aquatic Invasive Species Program was launched on July 1, 2007. Program initiation followed briefings of the Department of Natural Resources, the Governor's Office and the Legislature's Natural Resources Interim Appropriation Committee about threat to Utah from Dreissenid mussel species. The 2008 Legislature passed the Utah Aquatic Invasive Species Interdiction Act.
