Native To: India (Stibick 2007)

Date of U.S. Introduction: First discovered in California in 1953, but the infestation was eradicated; since then, it has been frequently intercepted on imported cargo (Stibick 2007)

Means of Introduction: Usually found in imported cargo at airports and maritime ports (Stibick 2007)

Impact: Destructive pest of grain products and seeds (Stibick 2007)
